3 slices white bread, crumbled (or 1 1/2 cups store-bought bread crumbs)
2 lb. ground chuck
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tbls. chopped parsley
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tbls. sugar
1/2 tsp. fennel
1 tbls. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tbls. dried basil leaves
