bye bye junk mail

I’ve put an end to useless crap. That’s right, I’ve freed myself from the burdens of JUNK MAIL. (Or at least I hope). Searching the Net, you come across a lot of useful stuff. The Green Options Blog had an amazing and quite informative post or two all about ridding your life junk mail (helping the environment, in turn, by reducing the paper usage output). I’ve proud to say I went through the steps to get rid of credit card offers, “current resident” mailers and random catalogs. Yippee! Although I’m noticing a lot of local stuff arriving at my doorstep that I may need to request individually. Otherwise a good step toward reduction.

it’s a carpool nation

I had a bridal shower to go to today that was a good 30 minutes southeast of me. I thought, what can I do to help Mamma Earth today since I have to go so far on tollways and all? Carpool with my co-worker. Genius! I probably would’ve done this no matter what, but it helped knowing I was striving toward reduced carbon emissions and other pollution as well. It was a one-timer, but a good effort.

tonight, on weekend update

One more AFI 100 movie down, so many more to go. I finally finished Lawrence of Arabia (1962) starring Peter O’Toole after nearly four hours of grouling watching. Actually, I didn’t even watch it straight through. I needed a break. And quite honestly, I didn’t get it at the end. It was very well done and I liked certain parts. I liked it better than Citizen Kane (oh bane of my high school film class existence). And yes I know how wrong that sounds for anyone trying to accomplish the AFI 100 or who likes movies so much, but that’s how I feel. Rosebud. Pfbbt!

my motorola razr makes my world go round

It could be intoxication from the “new cell phone” fumes or the exhilaration of opening a brand. new. box. But I couldn’t be more excited about my new pink motorola razr. I found it on eBay Express in my effort to find a phone that doesn’t drop every call I have. So we’ll see. My reception definitely seems to be better than before but I’m going to have to investigate further.
