Last night my knitting gals and I hit up the local Borders to see the Yarn Harlot. It was mayhem. Knitters from near and far came in droves to hear Miss Stephanie Pearl McPhee speak (author of four books and blogosphere extraordinaire). I got there about 5:45 and had to desperately save seats for those I knew were still on their way.

The Yarn Harlot, to no surprise, was delightfully funny and definitely made me feel bad that I didn’t get her book yet. (Don’t worry, it’s on the list. Yesterday, however, I bought the Vogue Knitting Stitchionary and couldn’t get two books). I would’ve liked to get the book sign (adding it to my Debbie Stoller book, which apparently I didn’t blog about. Gasp!), but the financially responsible in me was too loud last night.

If you haven’t read the Yarn Harlot’s blog, I think you should first hit yourself and then read it through the spots in your eyes and run out to check out her books: Yarn Harlot: The Secret Life of a Knitter, Knitting Rules!: The Yarn Harlot’s Bag of Knitting Tricks, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Casts Off: The Yarn Harlot’s Guide to the Land of Knitting and At Knit’s End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much.

Happy knits to you all and to all a knitty night.

PS. Amy R. Singer, editor of Knitty and author of No Sheep For You, is in town tomorrow at Loopy Yarns.
