It’s Earth Day people! In celebration of such an occasion, I replaced 12 light bulbs with compact fluorescent ones from Home Depot. Speaking of Home Depot and their eco-friendly ways, today they were giving away a 60-Watt bulb. How cool!

In other cool earth-friendly news, this weekend Chicago held its first Green Festival. I lucked out and was able to go as press yesterday and walk the floor. There were a ton of cool exhibitors (yarn, tea, skin care). I bought some tea and a To Go Ware set (bamboo silverware and chopsticks in a cloth pouch made by refugees in Thailand). There wasn’t a lot going on for my end of the industry, but I was super excited that I got to go. Code Pink and Ms. magazine were there representing, as well as Mayor Daley. They also gave away a compact fluorescent bulb. That’s right: I got TWO this weekend. Totally cool.

Today’s activities consisted of cleaning. And cleaning some more. I swapped my seasonal clothes shifting winter and summer between my two storage areas (basically my room and the spare room). I ran some errands and picked up the Boyd NeedleMaster circular needle set. I have toyed with the idea of buying this kit for some time but after calculating the savings, it was pretty much a done deal. I also had a 40% Jo-Ann’s coupon so that was icing on the cake. I also cleaned my car. Now it might seem a short task, but my car hasn’t been cleaned as thoroughly as normal all winter so it was in for an overhaul. You could almost call it detailing, I get pretty crazy.

And I baked cookies. That’s right, with all of this going on, I found time to bake cookies. They’re leftover from the Chocolate Chip Cookie and Brownie Cupcakes I made over a week ago.

I rounded out the day with a nice facial using Angels On Bare Skin, a new cleanser I got from Lush. It smells of lavender. I also got a Trichomania Shampoo Bar that smells like coconut that I’m going to try tomorrow.

The rest of the evening will be devoted to relaxing and working on the newest sock I casted on. I may return to the Eyelet Swirls project but I haven’t decided.
