I went on a field trip to an LYS (local yarn store) and bought some yarn. I count this as pretty eco-friendly since I’m supporting a local vendor. That’s pretty good. They took home a lot too in my contribution to Mama Earth. :) My group also carpooled. Yay, reducing the carbon footprint. (I know, already counted the carpool thing, but this is a daily effort blog so it’s a good thing.)

It’s mayhem I tell you. I went to The Fold today with knitting buddies MB and Le Petite Tricoteuse. It was seriously nuts. It’s out in the boondocks but definitely filled to the gills with gorgeous yummy knitting things. I went a bit overboard with my sock yarn purchasing, but if nothing else, I’ll be keeping busy for quite some time. I’ve found in the last few weeks that when traveling (either interstate-wise or just to and from work) sock knitting is far more conducive and easier to shove in my bag.

So above is us eating at Flatlander—a neat little place where I had a yummy chicken pesto sandwich and homemade chips. There’s a lot of us because MB’s other group met us up there. Fun knitters powwow going on. Also here’s most of what I bought. I say most because it’s missing two skeins of Regia and another skein of Socks That Rock in Azurite. There’s are somewhere and I wanted to take a quick picture.

After our trip that lasted well into the afternoon, I met up with my mom at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I picked up this project basket. I wanted someting sleek that would fit into a living room decor and also not have to be replaced for awhile. It has handles so I can move it around but fits nicely between the coffee table and sofa. Perfect for tv knitting. I also have about four or five projects in there with room to spare. Considering the afghan project is taking up a ton of space right now, this proves to be a wise purchase.

During my travels to Minnesota to visit the folks at 3M, I was able to finish one Thirassia sock. I ran out of yarn so I need to make a trip out to Knitche to pick up some more. I also casted on for the Clessidra stockings. Also have to run to Have Ewe Any Wool as I’m going to run out of yarn with this project as well. It’s going OK, but it is very detailed and complicated.

I also watched a few movies today, including The Matchmaker with Janeane Garofalo, Catch & Release with Jennifer Garner and Because I Said So with Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton. All were pretty good and kept the knitting going, which was a plus. I watched the last one with my mom for some Mother’s Day bonding. :)
