I did a whole lotta crafting today. I had to run out to JoAnns to pick a fabric to line the Baby Afghan with (for ultimate cheek softness). I found this cute fabric with trains, moons and stars on it that had the right blues and yellows from the afghan. I also blocked the blanket so I can sew the fabric on later this week. It’s currently drying on the dining room table hopefully drying really really fast so I can get this last bit of the blanket done.

Then I made some sock blockers with the help of Little Sesame Knits’s tutorial. I think they turned out alright. I found some cheap vinyl fabric from JoAnns that seemed to work out. I didn’t have the right supplies so I used a glue stick instead of double-sided tape. I also realized that the sides would be left exposed and that water from the blocked socks might seem in between the pieces of vinyl, so I used clear shipping tape and wrapped it around the edges to give it a little more coverage. I was a little sloppy with my work so they’re not that pretty to look at, but they’ll do the trick.

As part of my one green thing effort, I made some produce bags out of tulle using Circle of Life’s pattern. I’m pretty excited about these but I think the bags are a bit small. I’m going to make more that are a little bigger. Also I was having trouble getting the tulle under the double bias tape. I’m not the most patient sewer so that’s probably the problem. I have a nice blue tulle too that I want to make the bigger bags with. That way I can figure out the size of the bag fairly quickly.

As if that weren’t enough craftiness for one day, I was able to get through 24 rows of the second Queen of Cups sock. It’s coming along well and I hope to have that done by midweek so I can cast on the second Clessidra sock which needs my 1s.

Meanwhile, I watched another two AFI 100 movies today: Annie Hall (#31) and Goodfellas (#94). I have to say, I enjoyed Goodfellas more. Even though I love Diane Keaton, I couldn’t get past Woody Allen’s humor. I’ve never been fond of it. So it’s no surprise here that the movie wasn’t as enjoyable to me. However, Keaton was awesome and showed real talent early on her career.

Goodfellas was much more entertaining, even though their was a tremendous amount of violence. All-star cast Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci were phenomenal and the movie had a really interesting story line. Now I have to get to bed before I can’t wake up on time tomorrow morning.
