As you may have noticed, I’m working my way through the AFI 100 list—the top American movies of our time. Earlier this year, the AFI released a new 400 nominated movies list (of which the top 100 list is formed from) so it could release its 10th anniversary of the AFI 100. The show will air June 20 on CBS and Morgan Freeman will present the new list.

What this all means is that I’ll have to merge the new list with my current list once it’s released. Hopefully not too many movies I’ve seen will be bumped off the list. But it’s always a possibility. I was surprised (and excited!) to learn that the new 400 list replaced 81 movies with new ones; 38 of which I’ve already seen. My new grand total of the 400 list is 158! Here’s the new list. New to the list is in red and movies I’ve seen are bolded. You can see my updated progress of this list here.
