another christmas present bites the dust (or finds its way to the finished pile)

Earl Reds are fini! finished the grafting of the second sock’s toe. Kitchener makes so much more sense now that I’m doing it correctly. Makes a pretty toe!

jetta baby gets her annual

I had to take my car into the shop today. The electrical malfunction light became illuminated yesterday night. So off to the local city dealership I went to get her all checked out. She was also in major need of an oil change, and since I haven’t had a chance to get her to Midas, I figured this would be as good a time as any.

high noon, shane?

I watched a few AFI movies today as I was toiling away on this major project for work. I had to work at home the workload is so huge.

I popped in High Noon to begin with. Starring Gary Cooper, the movie is basically a showdown between the law and the criminal Frank Miller who was put away by the local marshal.

the best years of our lives

Last night I put in the most recent Netflix film I had received: The Best Years of Our Lives. Starring Myrna Loy and Fredric March, the film follows the love stories of three WWII veterans. The sailor Homer lost his two hands and battles with becoming rehabilitated to civilian life. Al has to reacquaint himself to his wife and two kids. And Fred finds it difficult to hold down a job and keep his marriage together.

leftovers reloaded

Leftovers make great meals, I hear. Especially when you whip them up creatively. These are some leftovers I’ve collected over the past week. The turkey is from Thanksgiving dinner, mashed potatoes are from Saturday’s dinner. I sauteed some onion that I used a few weeks ago (don’t worry, it was in the fridge). I threw them on the sandwich and had some extra. Then my mom made me breakfast on Sunday and sent home the extra bacon. I made some slices and threw that on the sandwich too. I really don’t know what kind of meal this was but it seemed to work out.
