It took awhile, but I finally added another AFI 100 check mark. Platoon, about Vietnam, documents the confusion, mixed emotions and internal battles that this particular band of soldiers experienced while fighting somewhere near Cambodia. Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Forest Whitaker and Johnny Depp made up some on this cast.

I found this somewhat difficult to watch (this isn’t my usual genre of film) but interesting none the less. After watching Apocalypse Now, war movies aren’t as difficult to watch. Although, I’m not sure these movies will ever be my favorite.

I still have plenty of movies left to watch. 37 to be exact, All Quiet on the Western Front, Patton, High Noon are all still on it. I need to watch these first I think to stay motivated with the list.
