flowers remind us

These are the flowers my mom and I bought for my uncle’s funeral. Aren’t they pretty? You can do so much with flower arrangements in Florida. I also love the orchids. We each got an orchid from the casket spray after the funeral. It was very nice but with our flight back, the orchids got messed up.

books of 2008—the secret life of a knitter

I finished another book! Hooray! I really enjoyed this book, as with all of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee’s books. This is one of my favorites of hers especially. It discussed different projects and how some are ughs and some are fantastic and how all you want to do is knit. I feel like this all the time! Knitters of the world unite.

happy birthday candy coated rose petals

Today is the 6th Blogoversary of this blog. I just happened to have overlooked this momentous occasion each year. I look back at this blog, which used to part of my other site idleaudience.com (that is now defunct), and now it stands on its own. Once a sporadic effort to reflect on the day’s events or just things I come across online, and now I’ve made it as much a part of my daily routine as I can.

a little berry sherbert, anyone?

The Berry Sherbert Basic Stockinette Socks are done! Using the Yarn Harlot’s Basic Sock, these are made with Araucania Ranco Multi, a yummy hand-dyed yarn. It took me 12 days to complete from start to finish. Yay!
