bikes, wanted

Yesterday D and I also pimped my bike, aka “Hot Pinkness.” She got a new rack on the back and was supposed to get mud flaps but they were too big. No worries, they fit on my mountain bike just fine, aka “The Green Monster.” I took pictures of Hot Pinkness but it started to rain before we finished work on The Green Monster. I need to take some good shots. Until then, you’ll have to let your imagination work for you.

i’m an owner!

Today D and I finally made it over to the Logan Square Farmer’s Market. There were about 10 booths, certainly not as big as the Wheaton Farmer’s Market, but still pretty neat. There were lots of veggies, flowers, Vella Cafe, soap and even wool! I look forward to more fruit at the market and seeing the other vendors.

the diving bell and the butterfly

Apparently it’s a movie-watching weekend. I watched The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (based on the book). It was really interesting, since it’s based on a true story, but sad as well. Also the camera effects were hard to watch at times since you’re view is from the perspective of a completely paralyzed man.

military and pesto friday

Watched about half of Patton tonight (on the AFI 400 list). It’s been pretty good so far, just long. D made us pesto and it was dee-licious.

leaves and leaves, is it fall?

No, it’s Vintage Socks time! I finished with plenty of time to spare. Check these puppies out! I’m really rather proud of them. Other than the Clessidra socks, I haven’t really completed such an intricate pair of socks. But these are pretty beautiful, if I don’t say so myself. More pictures on Ravelry.
