Is it wrong that I want a dog? Of course not, most of you would resound. However, what you don’t know is that I’m a diehard cat owner. I love my cat. LOVE, which seems weird to most, but my cat rocks. However, when my life settles a bit (like I have a yard and I’m home most nights so I can bond with the animal and obviously let it out to pee), I’d like to add another family member into the mix.

  1. Shiba Inu. My dad fostered one of these dogs for a small period of time and I fell in love with him. His name was Hachi (which means eight in Japanese) and came from a puppy mill. Needless to say, he had some problems adapting from years of abuse and mistreatment. This breed is from Japan and a medium-sized dog. I love the coloring and its wolf-like features. This is my No. 1 choice!
  2. Swedish Vallhund. I just came across this breed last year walking the streets of Lincoln Park with a friend. Its little short legs crack me up. Again I like the coloring and its mini-resemblance to a husky.
  3. Papillon. I’ve been a fan of this little dog since a Zyrtec commercial came out, although I can’t locate it now.  This is a really small dog and I’m not sure it would be a fit for me and my lifestyle, but I still think they’re adorable from afar.
