buttons have their place

I finally got around to adding the buttons to the Green L’illo Sweater. I really do think they make the sweater complete. This little precious thing will be added to the hope chest for future wear in years to come. Yay!

Look where someone shouldn’t be! Apparently the numerous soft surfaces, exclusive kitty bed and ample floor space wasn’t enough for this one!

I finally got around to trying the Saartje’s Bootees pattern. They are so adorable, and easy! I’m going to use up leftover sock yarn and make a bunch to have on hand for when my friends start having wee ones. The newborn size is a bit small, so the bigger size would be preferable. I’ve already finished one of the bigger size and will finish the second once I finish my Purple & Teal Jaywalkers, since I’m using the same yarn for both.

I finished my Green L’illo Sweater today. I’ve already made this particular sweater pattern for my little cousin Cooper and liked it so much I wanted to make another one. I used the same yarn—NaturallyCaron.com Country in Loden Forest. I just love this color. I made the 24-month size but it definitely doesn’t look big enough for a two-year-old. I know that my tighter gauge probably shrunk it a bit, but it still looks too small.
I watched Brick Lane (2007) today in between cleaning and knitting. The story is about Nazneen, a Bangladeshi woman who had an arranged marriage when she was a teenager and moved from India to London. Her life centers are her family and her husband’s needs, and is confined to their small apartment on Brick Lane.
