stash knit down 2009: teal & purple soaker

I made a Frantic Mama Knitted Soaker Pattern to match my Ribbed Baby Jacket. This Teal & Purple Soaker is a large to go with the large sweater that I made.

See how cute they both look together. I have enough yarn leftover to maybe make a hat.

I’m still a few weeks behind where I should be in the year (about three projects).

stash knit down 2009: ribbed baby jacket

I took the Ribbed Baby Jacket project to work on over the weekend while I was vacationing in Michigan. I was able to knit this little garment in the two days and two nights I was up there. I left with nothing but the ends to sew in, which I did this evening.

michigan 2009, day 1

I spent the weekend up in Michigan with my mom and her close friends in this beach house they rent every year. They’ve been going for 12 years now, so it feels like I’m coming home every time I go up there. This is a view from the porch of the yard.

oh noes! baby jetta is injured!

I didn’t drive my car all day yesterday because my colleagues and I went to a Sox game after work yesterday, so I took the train instead. This morning, I excitedly climbed into my car, missing the sweet smell of leather, only to discover that she had been accosted in the night! This would be my right side mirror dangling from the wiring within. Lucky for me, someone left a note and filled me in on how the accident occurred.

purple flowers

I got some flowers this weekend because Trader Joe’s had beautiful purple roses. They are my favorite! I don’t think these are Sterling Roses, which are a light purple gray with no thorns, but they are still gorgeous. I put them in this rectangular vase I got from Ikea and put them on my coffee table. I get to look at them all week!

stone corner table

I have been on the hunt for a halfway decent looking corner table that’s cheap. Low and behold I found one at Home Goods for $10. Just the right price. It features a faux rock tabletop and wrought iron legs. There was a round option as well, but I prefer square furniture typically.

I think the light mint green color in the rocks bring out the color of the vase now on top of the table.

stash knit down 2009: green/multi crops

The last of the four crop socks has been completed. These Green/Multi Crops will complete my birthday gift to my mom for this year. Since crops are like half a sock, I felt the need to make a few pairs. Also the yarn I was using wouldn’t have really made anything else, so four pairs is what she got.I will hopefully get rid of all of Ethan’s hair that seems to have taken over the gift though.

a week of outfits in review

This week I got very creative with my outfits after a mini-spending spree this weekend. It had been over six months since I was able to buy any clothes and in celebration of some monumental occasions, I bought a few things. These outfits were built around the few items I got.

Monday: Anne Taylor Loft, green sweater, white lace trim tank, white bermuda shorts, green flip flops with gold bee adornment. Paired with gold bangles
