I made a Frantic Mama Knitted Soaker Pattern to match my Ribbed Baby Jacket. This Teal & Purple Soaker is a large to go with the large sweater that I made.

See how cute they both look together. I have enough yarn leftover to maybe make a hat.
I’m still a few weeks behind where I should be in the year (about three projects).

I took the Ribbed Baby Jacket project to work on over the weekend while I was vacationing in Michigan. I was able to knit this little garment in the two days and two nights I was up there. I left with nothing but the ends to sew in, which I did this evening.

Hello Michigan beach and sunset. Oh and Happy Birthday Mom!
Friday, July 24, 2009

I spent the weekend up in Michigan with my mom and her close friends in this beach house they rent every year. They’ve been going for 12 years now, so it feels like I’m coming home every time I go up there. This is a view from the porch of the yard.

Does anyone know where Ethan is? I can’t find him.

I didn’t drive my car all day yesterday because my colleagues and I went to a Sox game after work yesterday, so I took the train instead. This morning, I excitedly climbed into my car, missing the sweet smell of leather, only to discover that she had been accosted in the night! This would be my right side mirror dangling from the wiring within. Lucky for me, someone left a note and filled me in on how the accident occurred.
Apparently while I was patronizing the game, an ice cream truck was double parked on my street across from my car. Oncoming traffic had a narrow space to navigate between the ice cream truck and my car parked on the left. Since no one in this city has any patience while driving, a number of vehicles passed through this space quicker than they should, knocking my mirror repeatedly. The woman who left the note happened to be the straw that broke the side window’s back, snapping the arm clear in half.
So now I’m in the throws of dealing with her insurance and trying to get this thing repaired before I head out of town on Friday. Poor baby Jetta!
