stash knit down 2009: snowmen sets

Although I started these last year, I finally got all of the remaining snowmen sets finished. Here are the seven remaining ones paired together. I’m only counting this as one project for this year, but here they all are.

books of 2009—lifehacker

I flipped through Lifehacker, written by founder of the site of the same name Gina Trapani. There were quite a few good tips that I took away from the book (like emailing your future self, some backup tips, keeping an inventory of your valuables with pictures and Flickr, and creating a personal wiki.

books of 2009—emma

I finished reading Emma! Yay! It took awhile for me to get through this book and I’m not really sure why. The language was a little flowery but overall I liked the plot and the character development. I am looking forward to reading the other Jane Austen books.

Books of 2009 total: 10

stash knit down 2009: owl baby vest #2

Owl Baby Vest #2 was completed just about as quickly as the first. Ethan was kind enough to model the little number for me. I feel kind of bad that all of my baby knitwear lies flat instead of modeled on a live specimen. Even my stuffed animal don’t seem to workout. Good thing for Ethan.

He really seemed to like the vest too, which convinces me that he would love this.

a trip to the apple orchard

I went to Kuipers Family Farm today with my friend Beth. We wanted to pick some apples and take a look at the orchard store. They had five varieties available: Golden Supreme, Gala, Prima, Jonamac and McIntosh. I got quite a few of the Golden Supreme for eating and the Prima for baking. I only grought two Gala apples home and gave two Jonamacs to my mom. The McIntosh were so picked over there was nothing but squishy rotting apples left. Yuck!
