I set out to knit up two skeins of Rowan Romance in a light blue and a light purple. I came across the Quickie Cowl and thought I’d give it a try. As I started knitting, I was concerned about the scratchiness of the yarn on my neck—it was a little rough. But I kept knitting, not knowing what else I could do with this yarn. Once I finished, it was apparent that the cowl was a little thick to fit my neck and the scratchy issue may still be an issue.

Someone suggested adding a liner to the cowl, so I went out to get some white fleece. Thankfully JoAnns had just what I was looking for in the remnant bin. I sewed it into the “cowl” and attempted to try it on.

Too small for my head to fit through! Is anyone Russian here? (We’re watching It’s a Wonderful Life in the background!)

So I made a muff instead! It’s actually super warm and fuzzy delicious. I hope to take a nice picture with my dress coat soon to really show it off!
