Do you remember the My Buddy doll from the 80s? Or his girl equivalent Kid Sister? The commercial’s song lyrics were great. “My Buddy, My Buddy, Wherever I go, he goes, My Buddy, My Buddy, I’ll teach him everything I know.”

Although I never had a My Buddy or Kid Sister, Ethan is my kitty version. He likes to go where I go and he likes to remain close. This week, while working on cleaning up the kitchen and putting things away.

I had his carrier near the back door to take down to storage. I glanced over and found a little surprise when I turned around.

That’s right! Ethan was hanging out in his carrier. This isn’t the first time Ethan has insisted to be near me, even in the kitchen.

While I made pasta sauce, he kept meowing at me until I brought a chair in that he could sit on. After that, he was as quiet as a mouse.

He’s perched on the TV to be nearby me.

Laid in the hallway.

Checked out the bathroom.

And manned the bed.

Phew, I’m glad he’s here to watch over everything!
