stash knit down 2010: flower back sweater

The infamous Flower Back Sweater is finally complete! Putting the finishing touches on this project (aka sewing on the flowers) felt almost impossible tonight. This little knit has had quite the journey. Reknit about four times due to gauge issues, then there were issues with the pattern itself and the yarn dye started to run. A trifecta of issues, oh my!

what’s blocking now?

Would that perhaps be a wedding garter being blocked on my table? Is there some kind of divine knitting intervention occurring to spur all of this WIP progress? Could I be on deadlines?

Well munchkins, it’s probably a mixture of a lot of things. For the garter, I did impose a deadline for myself. I’d like to get that wrapped up (by finishing the project and getting it into the mail) in the next week or so. I believe I can do a lot of the assembly today and Sunday in between all of my other activities going on this weekend. For the Flower Back Sweater, well, as I’m sure you’ve gotten the idea from my previous post, I’m done dealing with it on the needles.

Alright kidlets, here’s the Flower Back Sweater as it’s blocking on my dining room table. More pictures hopefully soon.

the war of the troublesome top and the battle of running yarn dye

I wanted to tell you all about how I finally finished the Flower Back Sweater yesterday after a two-year battle with the pattern. I wanted to share in the glory of this great achievement. I wanted to tell you that it was blocking on my dining room table and getting itself ready for the white flowers I will attach to it. I wanted to say I could have finished pictures by the end of the week.

black lace dress

New dress from Anthropologie! Not that I need a new dress, but this one was hard to walk away from. It was originally $158, reduced to $40. It’s lightweight with a lace overlay. The white ribbon belt is detachable, so I can opt for color or not. There are straps included so I can opt for them or not. The front is a long row of buttons and an elastic band stretches to fit in the back.
