retrocam for the android

I recently downloaded this new app called RetroCam for the Android and started experimenting right away. I started with a distorted Polaroid image of Ethan, which was pretty hard because he wouldn’t sit still.

Then I was walking around Chicago and snapped this simple shot of a parked car. What looked pretty boring turned into a really neat shot.

race day!

Today I ran in the Susan G. Komen 10k—my first of that distance. I made it in 59:38.7!!! Under an hour, which was my goal. The race was pretty nice overall. The route took us south on Columbus, west over to Michigan, back over to Columbus, up to lower Randolph and along the lack all the way to museum campus and back. I felt pretty strong for most of the race and didn’t have any soreness afterward. I have to say that the race definitely fueled me to keep racing.

blooming beautifully

The six-month flowers really bloomed beautifully.

The roses are totally beautiful—I love the pink/yellow petals.

Here’s a super closeup.

six-month flowers

These would be some pretty flowers. These flowers found their way into my home last night because a certain M surprised me with them. The bouquet is gorgeous and I can’t wait for the flowers to open.

Here’s a close up view of them.

week 7: 10k training

I did it! I ran 7.67 miles on Saturday! I ran the longest time and distance ever in my life—and survived! I am pretty proud of myself. I have to say that I’m pretty excited about starting my new training program so I can push my distance running even more. Of course, this is after I run the race and take a little bit of a break.
