stash knit down 2011: mini burberry cowl

IMG_20110513_220346

The Mini Burberry Cowl is a simple one-skein cowl. I used the one skein of Mirasol Miski in jade to whip it up. I had to adapt the Burberry Inspired Cowl Neck Scarf pattern so the piece was only 30 stitches across so I didn’t run out of yarn. Worked like a charm. I haven’t had the opportunity to wear it, or take a halfway decent picture, but some day when I have someone over that snap the shot.

stash knit down 2011: rouge rainbow socks

IMG_20110501_120046

My Rouge Rainbow socks I knit as a somewhat cathartic attempt to heal from a surprise breakup. I started knitting the morning after and ended up knitting the entire leg of the first sock. The pattern is based off of the Yarn Harlot’s Sock Recipe: A Good, Plain Sock. Except this time, I used two different yarns: Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox in Careza and Shibui Knits Socks in a variegated red/orange/yellow/pink shade. The cuff, heel and toe are knit only in Classic Elite, while the leg and foot are knit alternating the two yarns.

the evolution of hot pinkness

I’ve had my Dawes Sheila (aka Hot Pinkness) for three years now; I purchased her in 2008 off of eBay. At the time, I added a back rack.

Then after growing tired of getting mud splattered all over my pants and legs, I got some fenders and bedazzled them with Hawaiian flower stickers.

Earlier this week, Hot Pinkness’s new saddle came in. She was going to become all grown up.
